AIRFRAME DETAILS

Proven aluminum alloys are used to provide a level of stiffness and durability not available elsewhere. All connections and joints are machined on site. No plastic joints or fasteners are used.

LEADING EDGE TUBE

A two piece tube with rotating ends makes it possible to “short pack” your wing for travel. The rotating ends allow the wing tips to twist open maintaining a steady angle of attack under load.

STRUTS

Also called “Y” tubes are held captive at the keel boom with grade aircraft 8 clevis pins. Solid machined fork joints use load tested stainless steel quick pins to connect to the leading edge tube.

KEEL BOOM

Sturdy aluminum tubing with a single bend maintains superior strength. A single joint held by a detent pin makes for easy separation when needed. Premium quality solid cast jam cleat for out haul.

RIBS

Also called battens. 7075 T6 aerospace aluminum with factory bent camber. Swiveling ends align with leading edge sweep.

CROSS TUBE

A brilliant two piece system with a Delron ball joint and sliding keeper tube makes set up and take down a breeze.

SPROGS

Also called washout tubes.These extend out towards the trailing edge (perpendicular to the leading edge tube) and serve to prevent pitch diversion when the angle of attack becomes too steep. Think of them as your safety protectors when the tip starts to dive. They are spring held and fold easily into the velcro keeps located on the sail’s leading edge pocket when not in use.
